Indication:

You are in touch with your intuition now.
You can hear your inner voice, and connect to your inner guide and inner healer.
Record your dreams and venture into your unconscious mind.
The more you accept yourself, the deeper and clearer your perceptions will become.

Question to Ask:

Are there areas in your life where you allow others to influence you rather than trusting your own intuition?

Affirmation:

I trust my intuitive powers.
I can feel my inner equilibrium.
I find the answers I need from the calm center within myself.

The High Priestess represents all these qualities: darkness, mystery, psychic forces, the power of the moon to stir the unconscious, passivity, and the wisdom gained from it. This wisdom cannot be expressed in rational terms; to try to do so would be to immediately limit, narrow, and falsify it. The High Priestess signifies inner wisdom at its deepest level.

01. The High Priestess is the guardian of the sacred, the subconscious, the hidden mysteries of the unknown. She allows access to the realm of dreams, while also offering earthly wisdom. She is a reminder to heed the inner voice, to sit in stillness, and to find equilibrium between opposites. She moves between shadow and light, emerging and returning, much like the cycles of seasons, and the spin of Sun and Moon. She sits at the entrance to the conscious and the cosmic, a stoic reminder to see beyond into a deeper place, where intuition allows for truer understanding.

The High Priestess is a signifier of illumination and enlightenment, demanding emotion and compassion, balance and levity. She asks one to feel, instead of think.

02. The High Priestess is the guardian of the unconscious mind and the teacher of sacred knowledge and hidden mysteries. Sitting at the threshold of the conscious and unconscious mind, she has an innate ability to travel between these realms effortlessly. She teaches you that the world is not always as it seems and more profound influences are often at play. She ushers you through the thin veil of awareness, offering you a deep, intuitive understanding of the Universe and a heightened awareness of secret or hidden information.

Allow The High Priestess to become your guide as you venture deep into your unconscious mind and access this inner wisdom. Connect with your intuition and your Higher Self through meditation, imagination, dream interpretation, and active visualization.

03. Her appearance in a reading can signify that it is time for you to listen to your intuition rather than prioritizing your intellect and conscious mind. Meditation, prayer and new spiritual work is indicated. A period of passive withdrawal can enrich our lives by allowing things inside to awaken. There is searching within yourself to be done for the answers that you seek. The answers to the questions you have are within, not without.

People often link passive with ‘negative’ or that is, inferior and weak. But passivity contains its own power. People who only know action never get a chance to reflect on what that action has taught them. In a deeper sense, passivity allows the unconscious to emerge.

Only through withdrawal from outer involvement can we allow the inner voice of vision and psychic forces to speak to us.

04. As an emblem of secret knowledge, the High Priestess indicates that feeling of intuitively understanding the answer to some great problem. It can refer to visions and to occult and psychic powers.

At best, the High Priestess signifies the potential in our lives – very strong possibilities we have not realized, though we can sense them as possible. Action must follow or the potential will never be realized.

At its worst, the High Priestess can indicate passiveness at the wrong time or for too long, leading to weakness, and fear of life and other people. It shows a person with strong intuition who cannot translate feeling into action, or a person afraid to open up to other people.

05. The High Priestess is a signal that you are being called to embrace the Divine Feminine – your connection to your intuition, compassion, empathy, and inner wisdom.

Regardless of your gender, it is vital for you to balance and integrate your masculine and feminine energies. Feel, rather than think. Collaborate, rather than compete. Create, rather than destroy.

Be proud of your ability to nurture, trust, sense, and empathize instead of hiding it away.

06. The High Priestess reversed can mean that you are finding it difficult to listen to your intuition. It is time for you to meditate and try a new approach. Something has been telling you to follow your gut. There is a lot of confusion around you, and your actions may feel contrary to what you know is right.

You must never be afraid to ask questions of yourself that may illuminate a new path forward for you, one that is more authentic to your inner self and your individual values. You may also keep your intuitive capabilities hidden from others, fearful of their judgments or opinions. If this resonates, know that your intuition is your superpower, here to guide you and help you. Surrender and let go.

07. The High Priestess calls on you to be still and direct your attention inward to listen to your voice and wisdom.

You may be swayed by other people’s opinions or swept up in their drama when what you really need to do is focus on what is right for you. It is time to get quiet and withdraw yourself from the external world to observe what your inner guidance is sharing with you now. Think of The High Priestess as the calm center inside of you that is untouched by your external world and trust that she is always there when you need her. If you clear the way for your intuition to speak to you, the answer will follow.

08. Finally, the secretive nature of The High Priestess may suggest gossip and hidden agendas.

Others may be keeping information from you or talking about you behind your back and sharing mistruths. Rather than making assumptions or diving into the depths of paranoia, have an open and honest conversation to surface and address these secrets.
